Procurement

Procurement for the United Nations University Vice Rectorate in Europe (UNU-ViE) is implemented by the Procurement Department following the procurement rules, regulations, procedures and instructions from the United Nations Procurement Division (UNPD) and aims to seek the best value for money principle as well as cost-efficient, professional, high-quality and environmentally friendly goods and services. In accordance with United Nations rules and regulations, the procurement department of UNU-ViE is ensuring that all required goods and services are obtained in accordance with the best value for money principle and in a fair and transparent manner. The procurement activities of the UNU-ViE cover a wide range of printing and publishing services, office equipment, ICT equipment and services, educational services, training and design services, conference equipment and services, office supplies and furniture, field needed products and various other requirements.

UNU-ViE procures goods and services through the following competitive solicitation methods:

  • Request for Quotation (RFQ)
  • Invitation to Bid (ITB)
  • Request for Proposal (RFP),

and the following methods for sourcing:

  • Expression of Interest (EOI)

  • Request for Information (RFI).

New vendors of relevant products and services are encouraged to submit their application for registration at the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) and the UNU-ViE Vendor Roster by completing the UNU Vendor Form (Deutsch/English) together with the detailed information demonstrating experience and qualifications in provision of the relevant commodities/services.

Detailed information requested includes:

  • relevance of the product/service for UNU-ViE requirement
  • years of experience in the business
  • compliance with UN payment conditions
  • financial situation

Upon acceptance, the company’s data will be added to the UNU-ViE Vendor Roster and be given equal consideration during vendor sourcing for a particular solicitation. First time vendors should kindly return the completed Vendor Form to:
